  • Simplicity is essential to a successful portrait. Keeping it simple can help you feel comfortable which will come through in the portraits.
  • Lenses should be removed from your glasses. Ask if your optimist would be willing to help you remove the lenses for this shoot, many, if asked, will help you out at little or no cost, they might even be willing to lend you a pair of empty frames from your optometrist that look similar to your own. It never hurts to ask.
  • Contacts can be worn, but often your eyes will be less red and will have more sparkle if you can get by with your contact lenses out during your session.
  • Long sleeve dresses and shirts can be better than short sleeves ESPECIALLY for your head and shoulder/traditional poses. It is our job to make you look great, please consider bringing along a couple nice sweaters or cardigans can increase your looks without changing your outfit.
  • Don't forget to bring your jewelry, especially your class ring.
  • If you participate in extra-curricular activities and sports, don’t forget your jersey, helmet, ball, and any other accessories.
  • Please wear your hair in your regular/natural style. Guys, please make sure your haircut is at least two weeks old. Make sure your shave is only an couple hours old. That five o'clock shadow will show! If you need a trim, please take care of it with about a week before your portrait session. Ladies, please think twice before getting a new style or switching stylists too close to your session. You want to make sure you have the style you want (and one you have practiced for a long time). Please remember that we offer spring Senior Mini Sessions for this specific reason, you can add a spring mini session for $100 if booked with your senior portrait experience and then you can have a great memory of both styles.
  • Remember to iron your clothes the night before and hang them on hangers. If that favorite shirt or pair of pants of yours is just a BIT too tight, feel free to bring it, but don’t rely on it, it might not photograph well. Make sure you have a couple sets of clothes that are comfortable and share your style.
  • Get a good night's rest, relax and be ready for a great portrait session!
  • Remember, you are here to have fun. Prepare and then come ready to have fun and make memories.
